It's Quiet

Not much going on over the last week or so.  A quiet week last week with a bit of Xmas shopping at the weekend.  Warwick seemed like a good place to go, and although we managed to get a few things, the highlight was picking up a copy of Blur's Live at Budoken CD from Oxfam for the grand price of £2.99.

Last night Clare and I popped into Solihull for a bite to eat at Bella.  Despite the Christmas run up and the shops now open until 8pm it was remarkably quiet!  Good for us as we got a good table, with no waiting for food and when it arrived it was piping hot.  It was a lovely evening all in all.

Hedgehogs and Warwick

Mother's Day and Clare and I have just got back from my parents.

It's been a quiet weekend, especially after last week, but it's been nice.  Yesterday we popped over to Warwick.  We browsed the shops and, after a bite to eat a cafe by St Mary's Tower  (De Ja Vue), bought a couple of things for Mother's Day.  Clare managed to pick up a nice dress and I found a book.

As I said, a quiet weekend although I did have a nice surprise yesterday.  The postman arrived and, along with the junk mail, he brought my British Hedgehog Preservation Society Membership Certificate, Newsletter and Hogalogue!  Clare had signed me up without my knowing.  It was a lovely surprise!!  I was a member many years ago but my subscription lapsed.  I'd always meant to join again but never did.  I am now a fully paid up member thanks to Clare.

If you like hedgehogs or know someone who does you should join.  The website is below.

Warwick and Leamington

Shopping in Leamington today with lunch at Gusto Ricco, a small Italian cafe.  I hadn't been there before. I was impressed by how many tables they crammed in.  Every available space utilised.  I had a toasted mozzarella and tomato panini.  Nice, but nothing special.

Prior to Leamington we stopped off at Warwick.  Having scoured the antique and charity shops we headed for the market to find that it had been replaced by a fun fair!  It was the we decided to jump back on the train to Leamington.
As we headed back to the train station we stopped off at The Golden Monkey Tea Company shop on Smith Street.  I've walked past it before but never popped in.  It's a great little shop selling teas and tea paraphernalia (reasonable prices as well). I ended up with a small tea infuser and some chocolate. Zotter Labooko, two bars wrapped together. One a 90% cocoa bar and the other a 100% cocoa bar, for purists only apparently!

The Golden Monkey is holding a chocolate tasting evening on November 2nd.  Check out their website here.
